"We had done several projects over the years in Colorado Springs and had heard very good things about Berwick Electric. It was our first experience working with Berwick Electric and they proved to us through the course of the project that they were the true professionals that we had heard about.
They were the quiet, unsung heroes during
the project." Darrell Eastwood Vice President, Operations Saunders Construction, Inc

Focus on the Family Building Focus on the Family's Welcome Center demonstrated Berwick's professionalism to Saunders Construction Company, general contractor.Based in Englewood, Colorado, Saunders Construction Company has built projects up and down the Front Range, but Focus on the Family's Welcome Center was their first experience working with Berwick Electric Company.
Considered the "crown jewel" of Focus on the Family's campus, the 30,000 square foot building houses an auditorium, bookstore, and extensive multimedia displays. Its communications and electrical systems are linked to the rest of the campus and controlled from the headquarters building. A special children's area, which was added late in the project, made completing the facility in time to welcome summer visitors a special challenge. |

"With a job of this magnitude, you're going to have emergencies. You're going to have field changes. And what really differentiates a Class A group is how they handle those field changes. Throughout the whole job these guys were champs... they did not have any issues that they could not resolve.""Without a doubt, Berwick's reputation is one of the leaders in the industry. They've been in town for better than 75 years. Clearly, if you have a difficult job, they will be on your bidding list." Devin Hartley Operations Manager, The Citadel |
The Citadel Opened in 1972 and expanded in 1984, The Citadel underwent its most extensive renovation in 1996. Berwick Electric Company gave the mall a complete electrical makeover, inside and out.Keeping the mall and its shops open while totally revamping their electrical system, lighting and HVAC controls demonstrated Berwick Electric's ability to coordinate a big, complicated job. Working three shifts with as many as 30 electricians on site, Berwick was able to complete the project on schedule with minimal inconvenience to the shopping center, its tenants and customers.Among Berwick's responsibilities were bringing the entire electrical system of the 25-year-old mall up to current code, installing and fine-tuning a distinctive new indirect lighting system, and replacing the mall's parking lot and roadway lighting. The latter project involved creating a lighting scheme to comply with modern codes and replacing existing 35-foot light poles with 60-foot poles. This necessitated the purchase of a special high-rise boom truck for installation and future service of these lights. |
